Firewood - everything you want to know
Heating your home with locally grown and sourced firewood is not only a really satisfying thing to do but you'll be making your own valuable contribution to reducing your carbon footprint if you use it to replace heating by coal, oil or gas... and it may well also be a more cost effective choice!
Some people like the idea of this but maybe don't know how to go about getting a wood burning stove, buying, storing and stacking firewood and knowing what to burn. This section of the Low Carbon Cairngorms website will hopefully help you with answers to some of those questions as well as pointing you to the host of other good websites for more detailed information.
We would also like to know what you think about firewood! Please give us a few minutes of your time to complete this online survey. It will help us to learn more about how people use firewood in the National Park and we'll use your answers to help improve the service to you. You can see the results of the survey so far here.
